Took the early train from Seattle to Portland this morning. Lots of old hippie/ prospector cats with graybeards, backpacks, and 'Nam hats. Meet ALOT of "farmers" traveling to Northern California as well...at least some people are still using the rails. Good times. Got to my hotel and was greeted with fliers for tomorrow night's screening sitting on the check-in counter. Double good times. I'll let you know how it goes. Going to have some deep thoughts/me-time tonight. Bye now...

LA SCREENING-SILENT MOVIE THEATRE

Continuing my trend of posting shit completely backwards, here's photos from the LA screening at the start of the summer. I am really on the ball with this one. It was at the Silent Movie Theatre...Bob Roberts showed up which was real cool. The dudes from The Briggs played an acoustic set as well...which ruled. I can't remember where I stayed...I know I ate at Canter's like 6 times and hung out with Todd from Canvas LA...yep, that's pretty much it.

Since apparently, I am doing everything backwards...here's some photos from the New York City Hori Smoku screening at Tribeca a month or two ago (I can't remember). They ended up showing it in 2 theaters because of the turnout...like 500 some peeps. The Stalkers played as well. It was rad, I stayed at the Standard because at this point in my life, who cares about the slowly tightening noose of debt around my neck. The room had a bathtub next to the bed, which if it was anyone else, would probably have been highly erotic. Instead, I took a rather depressing bubble bath and watched Clone Wars on the Spanish Channel. La Vida Joka.

My long time friend, Paul Romano is having his first solo show this Saturday Oct. 10 at the Toothless Cat Gallery in Philly. Paul's done a shitload of artwork for bands like Mastodon, Trivium, Godflesh,etc. and the show is going to be jammed with paintings, sketches, prints- you name it. He's also going to do a bunch of "interactive" mad libs...good times. Speaking of good times, Paul once made me dinner at his apartment...mind you, he didn't eat, he just sat across from me and stared.

I truly believe he may have fed me his downstairs neighbor.

It was packed, capacity crowd...which was pretty awesome as Don Ed Hardy and Lyle Tuttle were both there to receive standing ovations...Thee Oh Sees played the after party. HOT SPRINGS DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL

What better way to spend the last days of October than heading down to Arkansas for the 18th Annual Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival. I plan on being shirtless the entire time in honor of every "COPS" episode I have ever watched. But for serious, this is a big honor. Hori Smoku is screening Sunday Oct 25 at 4:35 pm. More info here
